The Real Reason So Many Are Upset With Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act

cross_style2_silver_glowing_md_blkLast week, Indiana was placed in the national spotlight when Gov. Mike Pence signed their Religious Freedom Restoration Act into law. All the state law really does is reinforce a previously passed federal law that guarantees the religious rights of Indiana citizens; joining 19 other states who have passed similar laws.

However, liberals from all over the country are decrying the law, claiming it gives Christians the right to discriminate against same-sex couples. Gov. Pence stated that if he thought the law had anything to do with discrimination that he would never have signed the bill into law.

But what is the real reason so many Americans, mostly non-Indiana residents are irate and screaming over a bill that only guarantees citizens of their First Amendment rights?

It’s because by allowing Christians to freely practice their faith makes them feel guiltier of their own sinful and lusting lifestyles. By trying to deny God’s teachings, they are attempting to ease the guilt of their own conscience. If they can silence Christians, they can sear their consciences to the point where they no longer feel guilty about what they are doing.

Just listen to what God’s Word says about people like those protesting Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act:

“For the wicked boasts of the desires of his soul, and the one greedy for gain curses and renounces the Lord. In the pride of his face the wicked does not seek him; all his thoughts are, ‘There is no God.’” [Psalm 10:3-4]

“The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none who does good.” [Psalm 14:1]

“But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power.” [2 Timothy 3:1:5]

“And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.” [John 3:19-20]

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.”

“Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.”

“For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.”

“And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.” [Romans 1:18-32]

“But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness, and their talk will spread like gangrene.” [2 Timothy 2:16-17]
